- Only complete albums considered. The whole thing has to be good, not just a few songs.
- Only one album per artist.
- The album has to be very good... not just goodish or good. 5 Stars. Outstanding. Etc, etc, etc.
- If my iPod had limited space, these would definetively be on it.
- I have got to love it.

* I'm not really considering only this CD... but the whole work of The Hold Steady. If they had a "best of", it would definetively be on the Best Of category... but then it would break the rules.
